CNN Turk tells 16 reporters and camera persons to stay and work outside of their office building

In a strange move, the CNN Turk news outlet banned its 16 reporters and camera persons to enter its office buildings.

CNN Turk is the CNN’s Turkish corporation operating from Turkey. It is known to be very friendly to the Islamic Turkish government of AKP party.

In a decision that was protested by the Journalist’s Union of Turkey (TGS) the corporation told the 7 reporters and 9 camera persons to stay away from the office buildings. The journalists will be able to use a temporary trailer in the building yard to work but will not be able to enter the main office building even to use the bathrooms.

The CNN Turk administration, without any further explanation, sent a memo to the journalists telling them, “We are limiting your area of interaction.”

This strange decision does not cover any other reporters, writers, editors or administration staff who constantly exit and enter the building all day long.
